VANCOUVER ART GALLERY

FOREWORD     The 16th Annual B.C. Artists' Exhibition, of which this is the catalogue, gives you the opportunity again of viewing the work of artists residing in this Province. Each artist was invited to forward two samples of work and out of approximately six hundred entries the work on view was selected. Following the satisfactory results of last year's exhibition, when the Exhibition Committee requested a Professor of Art from the University of Washington to examine the entries and decide on his own resposibility (sic) which of them justified a place on the Gallery walls, the same procedure has been followed this year.     The committee takes this opportunity to extend its thanks to the Judge for his labours on their behalf, a task that required patience as well as knowledge, and it is hoped that his decisions will meet with the general approval of both the exhibitors themselves and of the visitors to the Exhibition.              LAWREN HARRIS, Chairman, Exhibition Committee.
