George James Angliss

George James Angliss was born in Penticton, B.C., birthdates given are either 1920 or 1921. He was a student at the Vancouver Art School beginning 1939, and at the Ontario College of Art, returning to Vancouver to "complete post-graduate studies at the Vancouver School of Art" (Artists of the Okanagan).

He exhibited his work in the B.C. Artists exhibitions from 1943 through to 1948, and in the 1945 British Columbia At Work exhibition, all at the Vancouver Art Gallery. In 1945-1948 he was living in Penticton.

He taught at the Albert College of Art for "nearly twenty years", and was an Honorary Member of the Alberta Society of Artists.
