2003, Evelyn de R. McMann, University of Toronto Press Cloth, not illustrated, ISBN 0-8020-2790-3 250 pages; 9 pages of works cited referenced to 8,800 artists This reference work was Evelyn de Rostaing McMann's last major project, published after her death. The book consists of brief listings for over 8,800 Canadian artists, referenced from more than 150 sources, noted as being "confined to those sources that may be found in many university, public, and art gallery libraries." Chief among these were Macdonalds "Dictionary of Canadian Artists;" J. Russell Harpers "Early Painters & Engravers in Canada;" and her own references RCA and MM. The book is indexed to BC artists because a number of the 150 sources referenced in it are not yet listed in BC Artists, and it seemed that more information could be gleaned from it. In doing so, a number of "new" artists were added, but many more artist entries were updated with expanded names, dates, and cross-references. This often triggered reviews of the information in the other references, resulting in additional updates.

Thus, if an artist has an index listing, for example, ABC86 BIAC03 (1), it follows that the (1) reference noted in BIAC03 is to ABC. The table below lists additional references in BIAC03 that are also referenced in BC Artists (see Books & Pamphlets for more information), but the references don't have a separate page in BC Artists:
