Josephine (Zeffie) Crease

Josephine Crease was born in New Westminster in 1864, the youngest daughter of watercolourist Sarah Crease. She studied art at Angela College and later under Ellen Chaffrey Richards. She also studied in England.

She exhibited her work with the B.C. Society of Fine Arts in May 1924. She also exhibited work with the Island Arts and Crafts Society from 1910 to 1941, including eight paintings in the 1914 5th Annual exhibition.

She exhibited artwork in the B.C. Artist annual exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery from 1934 to 1940.

She died in Victoria in 1947 at the age of 83.
