The Government of British Columbia makes vital statistics information available to the general public in a number of ways. The simplest way for a member of the public to look for this information is through a search engine on the government website at the following address:

Your search can be for births, marriages, or deaths. Note that there are restrictions on the dates which are published. Deaths will not be listed on this website until 25 years after the event, marriages will not be listed until 75 years after the event, and births will not be listed until 100 years after the event.

If you are a member of the immediate family you can apply to have access to all vital statistics information, without the above restrictions.

Artists noted with the link BCVS have one or more vital statistic listed in the database. Only Vital Statistic events that occurred in the province of B.C. are listed in the database.
