Marjorie (also Margery) Harferd
(m Edwin Claude Partington)

c1922 -

Atelier Sketch Club

Marjorie Harferd was born on Salt Spring Island to English parents. She was a member of the Atelier Sketch Club, a group formed by art students taking Evening Classes at the Vancouver School of Art. The group put together an exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1940.

She also exhibited with the B.C. Society of Fine Arts in their annual exhibition in 1943. She was living in Vancouver.

She married Edwin Claude Partington, a pilot in the R.C.A.F., in 1943 in Vancouver. She was living in Washington Court at 998 Thurlow Street, Vancouver. The wedding certificate noted her occupation as "freelance artist."

It is possible that the couple left Vancouver after the marriage, as Harferd's exhibition record here stops that year.
