He came to Canada in 1950, living first in Saskatchewan, and arrived in BC in 1951. He was married to Arlyn Patricia Hill.
He exhibited artwork in the 1951 41st Annual exhibition of the B.C. Society of Artists, and in 1952 and 1953.
Kuthan died tragically at the age of 50 by alcohol barbiturate poisoning. He was found dead in North Vancouver, the date of death estimated as August 8.
His widow Arlyn (q.v. Arlyn Coad) married Luman Coad (q.v.) and became a well-known puppeteer.
