Amy Lindesay Adamson

Amy Lindesay Adamson was born in Edmonton in 1909. She was living in Victoria during the 1930s, and was a pupil of the Victoria School of Art, and the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland. She also studied in London, England. She was a painter in watercolour and oil, and a printmaker using the medium of etching and lino-cuts.She was a teacher-artist at the Royal Drawing Society, London England, and also worked as Art Mistress at Norfolk House School, Victoria B.C..

Additional information gives an exhibition range between 1929 and 1937 with the Island Arts and Crafts Society. She also exhibited her work at B.C. House, London, England. She was a Founding Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists in 1941.

Adamson died in Victoria in 1984 at the age of 75, according to B.C. Vital Statistics on-line.
