Roger Anthony (Tony) Hutton Lort

Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts


Anthony Lort attended the 1935 Vancouver School of Art summer camp on Savary Island, and contributed to THE SAVARY PUDDING. He was the son of noted artist Ross Lort.

The Spring 1936 edition of The Smock Pocket, the Vancouver School of Art Graduates' Association newsletter, noted that he had taken the position of Secretary to Charles H. Scott at the art school.

Lort married Joyce Benson in Vancouver on October 15, 1940. Her occupation was noted as "Clinical Photographer" at Vancouver General Hospital, and Lort was a Sub-Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve.
