Gordon Adaskin

Gordon Adaskin was born in Toronto ON. His parents were noted Canadian musicians Harry and Frances Adaskin.

He graduated from the Vancouver School of Art in 1952, and from the Provincial Normal School with his teacher's certificate in 1955.

He exhibited artwork in the 1957 47th Annual exhibition of the B.C. Society of Artists.

He exhibited at the Vancouver Art Gallery in the BC Artists exhibitions in 1955, 1956, and 1962.

Adaskin taught in a number of locations including the Banff School of Art, and other locations in Alberta and across Canada. See Macdonald.

In 1980 Adaskin was living in Winnipeg and was appointed full Professor at U.Manitoba. He retired from the University of Manitoba in 1993. After his retirement he moved back to B.C. He died at home in Gibsons in 2001, his occupation was noted as "University Professor - Education." He was married to Janet Lorraine Busch.
