He married artist Sylvia Golman in 1953.
He exhibited artwork in the 1953 43rd Annual exhibition of the B.C. Society of Artists. He also showed work with the group in 1954, 1955, 1956, and from 1958 to 1967.
Hume exhibited at the Vancouver Art Gallery in the 1955 BC Artists exhibition.
