W.J.B. Mayrs was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He graduated from the Vancouver School of Art in 1954.

He exhibited artwork in the 1955 45th Annual exhibition of the B.C. Society of Artists. He also exhibited with the group in 1956, and from 1958 to 1962.

He exhibited at the Vancouver Art Gallery in the BC Artists exhibitions in 1953 to 1957, 1958, 1960, and 1961.

Mayrs exhibited in the Northwest Artists exhibitions in Seattle from 1957 to 1961. He was living in Vancouver.
