Edward (Ted) Alfred King

Edward A. King was born in London, England, and arrived in Canada c1912, and in British Columbia c1921. He may have exhibited with the Island Arts and Crafts Society from 1914 to 1916.

King married Aileen Muriel Russell in Vancouver on September 12, 1923. Both of them were noted as commercial artists on the marriage certificate.

Edward A. King is noted as being with the Commercial Art Studios in Vancouver from 1932 to 1938. From 1932 to 1935 he partnered with Robert George Davidson.

He was with the Foster King Art Studio in Vancouver in 1945, partnered with George Foster.

Edward King exhibited in the B.C. Artists exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1946. He was living in Vancouver.

He retired as a commercial artist on December 31, 1961. He died in Vancouver in 1971 at the age of 79. He was survived by his wife.
