Lorraine Eversly Searle Hodge (Miss)

Miss Lorraine E. Hodge was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.

She an early student at the Vancouver School of Art, attending the school over an eight year period. In 1937-38 she received a Supplementary Diploma in Drawing, whereas the other graduates that year received full Diplomas in Drawing & Painting. She received a full diploma in 1945.

She was on a list titled "Leading Vancouver Artists," provided to the Labour Arts Guild on April 10, 1946 by the Vancouver Art Gallery to assist in the Guild's call for entries to the second annual B.C. At Work exhibition.

She exhibited work in the 1946 Jubilee exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery, and in the B.C. Artists exhibitions from 1938 to 1948.

In 1977 the artist was living in Vancouver.

Hodge died in Vancouver in 1986 at the age of 78. She was single, her occupation noted as "Retired - Teacher, Artist." The death certificate noted a correction in her middle name from "Eversleigh" to "Eversly."
