Stafford Donald Plant was born in Esquesing, Ontario, and educated at the
Western Technical School of Art. He studied under L.A.C. Panton,
Arthur Lismer, and Frank Brigden.

He exhibited artwork in the B.C. Artists exhibitions
at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1946, 1965, and 1968.
The artist was living in Vancouver.

He willed part of his estate to the Federation of Canadian
Artists to be sold for the Federation's benefit. The Heffel Gallery in
Vancouver has been auctioning the works off for the past few years. There
were also a large number of artist cards in the estate, printed in
colour from his oil paintings. The four images on this page are scanned
from original greeting cards purchased from the FCA gallery. These cards
are the B.C. scenes from those cards, there were also a number of paintings
from eastern Canada and the Rockies.
