Daniel McLellan was born in Ontario. He moved to Vancouver c1911.

He exhibited artwork in the B.C. Artists exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery beginning in 1942. The artist was living in Vancouver.

He died in Vancouver in 1965 at the age of 84, his occupation was noted as "Medical Doctor - Self Employed." He was widowed from Elizabeth Bernice Morgan.
