Mary Jane Kildall was an early graduate from the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts, receiving her diploma in 1935. The 1935 Vancouver City Directory lists her as a student, residence 6795 West Boulevard. In 1936 she was listed as "school teacher Van City" living at the same residence. She is not listed in the 1937 Directory.

In 1931-32 she won the BCSFA Scholarship of $25.00, open to first year students.

She received a Post-Graduate Endorsement in Design and Decorative Arts from the school in 1936.

The Spring 1936 edition of The Smock Pocket, the Vancouver School of Art Graduates' Association newsletter, noted that she was Assistant Design Teacher at the Art School.
