Mrs. A.G. Hodgins (Ruby) was born in India in 1866, according to Harper. She exhibited with the B.C.Society of Fine Arts in 1924 and 1925, as well as with the IACS in 1927 and later. She also showed work at the Art Association of Montreal Spring Exhibitions in 1935 and 1936 - four portraits per exhibition.

Harper indicates that she painted under the name "le Moncy Ai", but the IACS list of exhibiting members gives her signature as either "A. deMoncy" or "A. de Moncy". She also exhibited under the name Mrs. C.R. Hodgins.

She died in Victoria in 1938 at the age of 72.
