Marion Erb was born in Galt, Ontario. She was an early graduate from the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts, receiving her diploma in 1932.

The Spring 1936 edition of The Smock Pocket, the Vancouver School of Art Graduates' Association newsletter, noted that "Our most recent marriage that of Marion Erb, '32, to Mr. Robert Travers on March 10, 1936. Her address is 2997 2nd. Ave. W." Erb was sharing a studio with Helen Lougheed at 1203 7th Avenue.

The artist died in West Vancouver in 1999 at the age of 91, her occupation noted as "Interior Design - Home."
