Beatrice Burroughs was born in Calgary, Alberta. She married Louis Scott-Moncrieff, an accountant, on November 27, 1937 in Vancouver, at the age of 23.

She was an early graduate from the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts, receiving her diploma in 1934.

The Spring 1936 edition of The Smock Pocket, the Vancouver School of Art Graduates' Association newsletter, noted that she had spent the past year abroad.

In 1944 Burroughs married Hamish Davidson in West Vancouver on September 2 1944. She was divorced at the time.

Burroughs exhibited work in the 1936 5th Annual BC Artists' exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery. This was not noted in the VAG Library's early card index to artists who exhibited in the BCA and BCSFA exhibitions.

She was living in West Vancouver in 2004.
