Alyce Stephenson was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. She married William Shearer in Vancouver on December 7 1940. Her occupation was noted as "at business college."

She exhibited in the B.C. Artists exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery beginning in 1939. In 1945 she had her work in the British Columbia At Work exhibition, also at the Vancouver Art Gallery. In 1941 she was living in Vancouver.
