John Brendon of 656 East Forty-third, a student at John Oliver School, has won
first prize in a safety poster competition in Seattle, sponsored by the United
Commercial Travellers. His poster was one of a number chosen from contestants
in Vancouver schools for international competition, and
will be shown in competition with others from many parts of Canada and the United
States in a final judging in Columbus, Ohio. His instructor, Leon Manuel of John Oliver, will also receive an award. Other Vancouver winners in Seattle competition are: Bruce Dickson Boto, (sic) 1444 West Fifty-seventh, Magee High School; Hervey Berry, 1395 East Eleventh, Britannia High School; Joan Thompson, 1091 Broughton, King George High School. |
