Molly Privett was born 1905 in Streatham, England. She moved to Canada and settled in Victoria.

She exhibited work in the annual B.C. Artists' exhibitions in 1950, 1951, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1960, 1962.

She exhibited two artworks with the Art Association of Montreal Spring Exhibitions in 1956 and 1957.

She became a member and exhibited with the B.C. Society of Artists in 1961, 1962, 1965, and 1967. In 1977 the artist was living in Sidney.

Privett died in Saanichton in 1981 at the age of 75. She was living in Sidney at the time, and was widowed. Her occupation was noted as "at home."
