2017 UPDATES: New to Release 1.7.3

Summary:

The self-imposed task of cross-referencing Evelyn McMann's final work on Canadian art - the BIOGRAPHICAL INDEX OF ARTISTS IN CANADA published in 2003 - into BC Artists is complete. From the more than 8,800 artists listed by McMann, 1,144 artists are referenced into BC Artists, 62 of them "new" to BCA. Going through McMann also caused the referencing of another 100 or so artists from Macdonald's A DICTIONARY OF CANADIAN ARTISTS, indexed in Release 1.7.1. Re-formatting of biography listings for consistency is ongoing while files are open, and to point them to common files which can be easily updated for all references. Components from AAEV are slowly being merged, linked, or re-formatted directly into BCA, in preparation for the ultimate merging of AAEV into BCA to form one unified "look" for the project. This is also eliminating some duplication of information, for example art school publications have been moved from three places (none of them complete with all info) into one list. Three files have been deleted - almost going backwards! I have completed cross-referencing listings from the BC Directories pages, 1887 through 1934. A total of 130 "new" artists are listed as a result, and 50 new galleries, studios, and art supply stores. 2 new biographies, 3 new occasional papers, 28 new artist monographs. There are further updates to Art & Framing Stores of Vancouver and Parakontas pages. 76 artists updated from BC Vital Statistics documents, and 38 artists updated from review of VPL on-line website for BC artists. And finally, an extensive proof-reading and formatting exercise through the twenty-six A to Z artist index files is finally complete! Talk about dotting the i's and crossing the t's (crossing my eyes more likely). 2017 UPDATES: New to Release 1.7.2

Summary:

New images for Tomhu Huron Roberts, new photo portraits scanned from MUSEUM NOTES; T.R. Hardiman's Pioneer Gallery expanded, Sidney Baker framing stamp added, and another S.P. Judge drawing scanned. Much information was added from a review of 47 city and provincial directories, 1887 to 1933, which provided new listings for 79 artists and 55 galleries and other venues.
