Agnes Handley was an early graduate from the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts, receiving her diploma in 1934.

She won the Mrs. Jonathan Rogers Scholarship of $25.00 in second year, 1931-32.

The 1934 Vancouver City Directory lists her as "student, r 1196 West 15th."

The Spring 1936 edition of The Smock Pocket, the Vancouver School of Art Graduates' Association newsletter, noted that she was the Treasurer of the group.

Handley married Vernon Hockley in Vancouver on December 16, 1944. His occupation was noted as "Farmer - Orchard" living in Summerland, and she was noted as "Occupational Therapist - Canadian National Institute for the Blind." She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
