Dorothea Grant was born in Calgary, Alberta.

She exhibited her work in the 1945 B.C. Artists and the British Columbia At Work exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Grant died in West Vancouver in 1992 at the age of 82, survived by her husband. They were living at 1878 Robson Street. Her occupation was noted as "retired Accountant."
