Dr. John Stanhope Gladwin

April 8 1874 - March 18 1960

Vancouver Sketch Club


Dr. John S. Gladwin was born in Halifax County, Nova Scotia. He came to BC c1904, and moved to Vancouver c1918. The 1924 and 1925 City Directories list him as a Physician.

He exhibited artwork at the Vancouver Exhibition in 1930, representing the Vancouver Sketch Club.

He submitted work to the 1935, and exhibited work in the 1945, 1946, and 1948 B.C. Artists' exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Gladwin died in Vancouver in 1960 at the age of 85. He was survived by his wife Edith Mary Ellington.
