The Folk Craft Shop

The Folk Craft Shop was active in Vancouver in 1946. They had a sales outlet at David Spencer Ltd. department store on Hastings Street. Their letterhead noted that they specialized in British Columbia handicrafts.

They assisted the Canadian Handicraft Guild of B.C. with a large exhibition of spinning and weaving at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1946, from February 12 to March 3, exhibiting 200 items.

Letter to A.S. Grigsby after the exhibition:
"We are writing you to expresss our keen appreciation for all the assistance and the many courtesies extended to us, during the Exhibition of Spinning and Weaving. We thank you very sincerely for your patience and forbearance with us and ask you to convey to your staff our grateful thanks for all the help they gave us. Signed, Madeleine Barr (q.v.).

The group was affiliated with the B.C. Weaver's Guild.
