The Guild was founded in Montreal in 1906.
This is a 1914 list of Officers and the Executive Committee of the Canadian
Handicrafts Guild, from the City Directory. Artists in this list with BC Artist biography
files are: R. Mackay Fripp Louise Beresford Tully Charles Marega W.P. Weston James W. Keagey Other artists known to be associated with the Guild were J.W.G. Macdonald, Dora Geneva Lent, and Madeleine Barr. The Guild put on an exhibit of spinning and weaving at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1946, from February 12 to March 3, exhibiting 200 items.
