I designed and cut this linocut relief print based on a photograph taken by my
family at the Stanley Park zoo about 1964. Our family often went down to the park
to visit. The penguin enclosure had a slide and a pool. There was a baby penguin
in one of the pictures, a sign was posted saying "If woolly baby penguin falls in
water - RESCUE IT!" The edition is printed on Arches Text Wove paper 120 gsm.
All impressions were hand printed by the artist with Caligo Safe Wash Furnace Carbon Black
relief printing ink, using an antique J. Smart copy press. All prints are hand
coloured with Pitt artist India ink brush pens. All prints are
titled, editioned, signed and dated by the artist in pencil, and monogrammed in the plate.
