OLD LANE, EAST VANCOUVER
Original pen & ink drawing issued July 2005
Image size 8.5" high by 11.0" wide (215 mm by 280 mm)
(Low resolution image illustrated)
This is a view up a lane in the Strathcona District of
Vancouver - one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the city. The mix of
different building, roof, and fence styles was intriguing. The power and
telephone poles reminded me of totem poles along a shoreline.
It is drawn with a Pilot DR pigment ink pen, on architectural trace paper. The
drawing was exhibited at the Daily Grind Cafe Gallery in 2005, and at the
BC Art Salon in February 2009. It was published in a review of the
VIEWPOINTS exhibition in architectureBC Fall 2005, and was
also published by the Vancouver Sun on September 10 2005, along with
drawing Burrard Bridge.
