I designed and cut this little linocut relief print in late summer, while thinking about
the disastrous invasion of Ukraine, and the incredible horror of all of the atrocities
and war crimes being committed by the filthy lying ruscist bastards. SLAVA UKRAINE! I
wanted a very simple image that would convey my sentiments, and so I reduced it to the
very minimum of elements. I didn't even add my usual monogram in the plate.
The open edition is printed on Arches Text Wove paper 120 gsm.
All impressions were hand printed by the artist with Caligo Safe Wash Furnace Carbon Black
relief printing ink, using an antique J. Smart copy press. All prints are hand
coloured with Pitt artist India ink brush pens. All prints are
titled, signed and dated by the artist in pencil. It might be worth noting that I matted
and framed an impression of this print and mailed it as a gift to President Zelenskyy. I
later received a thank you letter from the Office of the President.
