The Vancouver Sketch Club
was well represented in the Art Section of the Vancouver Exhibition
this week. In the amateur list, Mr. S. G. Abbott won
third prize for portrait in oils. Miss Jack got
second prize for landscape in oils, and Miss Maud
Sherman carried off first prize for landscape in water colors.
Mrs. George Gilpin, of North Vancouver, won
second prize for portrait from life in water colors, and third prize for figure from life.
Mrs. Baron got first prize for any other
subjects in oils and water colors as well as first prize for design for book covers,
first prize for embroidery, and first prize for plant drawing with a view to design.
Under the professional classification,
Miss Edith Wrigley won first prize for any other subject in
water colors and second prize for landscape in water colors.
In the Loan Exhibit members represented were
