West graduated from the Vancouver School of Art in 1950.
He exhibited artwork in the 1955 45th Annual exhibition of the B.C. Society of Artists, and in the 1956, 1958, and 1960 exhibitions.
He exhibited at the Vancouver Art Gallery in the BC Artists exhibition in 1952, 1953, and 1957.
West died in Victoria in 2007.
