Anna Vanderpant was the daughter of pictorial photographer John Vanderpant. She was born in Nieuw Nieuwdorp in Holland, according to her death certificate, but born in Okotoks, Alberta according to other sources.

She was a student at the short-lived BC College of Arts in Vancouver, attending classes in at least 1933-34.

She exhibited work in the 1940 1st Annual Vancouver International Salon of Pictorial Photography exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery. The artist was living in Vancouver.

Vanderpant and her sister took over Vanderpant Studios after their father died in 1939.

Vanderpant died in Vancouver in 1998 at the age of 84. She was widowed at the time.
