Robert P. Taylor was born in Victoria, and raised in Sooke, BC. He was a pilot in World War II, and attended Vancouver School of Art.

He exhibited artwork in the 1948 annual B.C. Artists exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery. He had a solo exhibition at the gallery in December 1949.

He was living in Sooke in 1949, and still living there in 1988.

Taylor died in Victoria in 1992 at the age of 67. He was married to Evelyn Newell, and living in Sooke. His occupation was noted as "Pilot."
