Margaret Shelton was born in Bruce, Alberta, in 1915. She was educated in Calgary, studying under H.G. Glyde and Walter J. Phillips. Although primarily an Alberta artist, she also traveled in British Columbia and created a number of important artworks of the province. These include the print Fraser Canyon seen below, Homestead at Revelstoke, and Shooks Barn, Hatzic. Shelton died in Calgary AB in 1984.
