Mabel A. McWilliam was born in Cumberland.

She exhibited artwork in the B.C. Artists exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery from 1941 to 1946. The artist lived in Vancouver and North Vancouver. She also had a solo exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1945.

She was a member of the West Vancouver Sketch Club from 1948 to 1976.

McWilliam died in Penticton in 1997 at the age of 94. She was widowed at the time, her occupation was noted as "Homemaker - At Home."
