He exhibited artwork in the B.C. Artists exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery from 1935 to 1942.
Mathieson died in White Rock in 1957 at the age of 62. His occupation was noted as "Customs & Excise Officier" (sic) and he was married to Constance Mary Marsden.
