Alice A. Innes was born at West Zorra, Ontario, according to one source, and in Brooksdale, Oxford County, Ontario according to McMann.

It is possible that she was married to artist Urquhart F. Innes.

Innes had an extensive record of exhibition with the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, from 1930 to 1947.

She also exhibited her work with the B.C. Society of Fine Arts in their 39th Annual Exhibition in 1949 at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Innes died in Woodstock, Ontario in 1970, according to info from Uno Langmann.
