Johan(n) (John) Anton Helders

Johan Helders was born in Holland, and arrived in Canada in 1924 from the Dutch East Indies, settling first in Vancouver, then moving to Ottawa in 1926. He was a pictorial photographer.

Helders exhibited 8 photographs in the 1930 Vancouver Exhibition.

He returned to Vancouver in 1939. He was a friend of photographer John Vanderpant. He exhibited work in the 1939 exhibition of photography by the Vancouver Photographic Society at the Vancouver Art Gallery. He was on the Jury of Selection for the Society's 1940 and 1946 exhibitions. The 1946 exhibition noted the letters A.P.S.A. after his name. Helders later left Vancouver, and died in Homestead, Florida in 1956.
