The older Hall, David Hall (1885-1965) came to Canada c1910. He was born in Leeds, England, and was married to Bertha Savage. He retired from the sign business in 1955, and died in Vancouver at the age of 80, occupation noted as "Retired Sign Manufacturer."
The younger Hall, David George Hall (1913-1969) was apparently the son. He came to Canada from England c1919. He was born in Yorkshire, England, and spent his life as a sign painter. He married Violet Bernice Bell in Vancouver on May 23, 1929, occupation signpainting, religion Christadelphian. He was living on Prince Edward Street in Vancouver. Hall's death certificate notes that he died at age 56 after living in Vancouver for 50 years. He died from a ruptured vein in his leg, an autopsy was held, his blood alcohol level was 0.22%.
The David Hall Sign Company employed artists including G.K. Thorne and R.S. Alexander. The marketing display in the photograph notes that they were "the official sign painter" to the P.N.E..
