The 1911 catalogue lists both E.J. and E.G. Gulland, both middle initials were incorrect. The IACS list of exhibitors notes this artist as "GULLAND, EMILY P.", exhibiting from 1912 to 1924, but doesn't list the 1911 entries.
The 1910-11 Victoria City Directory lists "Gulland, Emily teacher lives 1157 Rockland." There are no other Gullands listed in the Victoria directory that year.
In the 1912 Directory Emily is listed as Teacher, St. George's School, at the same address. However, another group of Gullands were then living at 1311 Stanley Avenue: Emily Gulland, (widow of Fred); Frank M. Gulland, and Jane E. Gulland, Principal of Yverdon Kindergarten.
The death certificate for Emily Plant Gulland clears up most of the confusion. Emily (widow) and Fred were her parents Emily Plant and Frederick Rankin Gulland. Frank and Jane were presumably her brother and sister.
Gulland was living at 2246 Marine Drive, West Vancouver, when she died at the age of 90. She was single, her occupation noted as "teacher - teaching school." Her niece Mary F. Holdcraft (Holdcroft?) signed the death certificate.
