Gertrude Fleming was born in Petrolia, Ontario in 1899. In 1935 she was living in Edmonton, and in Calgary in 1941. She exhibited flower paintings in three Spring Exhibitions at the Art Association of Montreal, in 1935, 1936, and 1941. She had a duo exhibition of flower paintings at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1944-45 with Annora Brown.
