Clippings
"A fire screen designed by W.J. Bloomfield and executed in wood
and leather with pyrographic decoration by Mrs. Ellis is admirable" ...
"Among the pieces by Mrs. R.B. Ellis, a charming little
jewel box and a fine punch bowl deserve more than passing attention, though all
this member's work is good." ... "Mrs. Ellis' jewel box, decorated with a
form of Persian arabesque, being the noticeable successful exception."

The Canadian Architect and Builder, 1900
"Mrs. Ellis' charming work on china was this year represented by but half a
dozen pieces, of which we most admired two plates designed by
Mr. Jas. Bloomfield ... In china
Mrs. Ellis ... and Miss Ede (who gained Mrs. R.B. Ellis's
special prize) ... showed some beautiful work."
