Wallace Cotman Eade

Wallace Cotman Eade was born in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, in 1872. After arriving in Vancouver he had work in the 1912 Annual Exhibition of the B.C. Society of Fine Arts.

He was one of the earliest artists to visit and paint on Savary Island, and one of his paintings of three boys playing in a boat at the water's edge on Savary was used as an illustration in an early marketing publication by the Savary Island Park Association.

In 1915 the Vancouver City Directory listed him as an artist, residence 42 The Benge. That was a residential apartment building at 914 West Pender Street, Eva Pattison proprietor.

He died in Vancouver in 1916 at the age of 43. According to Artists in Canada on-line, the Clara Lander Library at the Winnipeg Art Gallery has a file on Eade.
