Cowan exhibited her work in the B.C. Artists annuals at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1938, 1940, 1943, 1951, and 1952. In 1943 she was living in Vancouver.
She also had work in the 1952 annual exhibition of the B.C. Society of Fine Arts.
In 1977 the artist was living in Vancouver. She died in Tsawwassen in 2018.
