Vancouver School of Art (Diploma 1938)


Maxine Botteril was born in Vancouver. She was an early graduate from the Vancouver School of Art, receiving her diploma for Design and Decorative Arts in 1938.

In 1937-38 she won the School Scholarship of $50.00, open to 1938 graduates. In 1939 she received a Post Graduate Endorsement in Design and Decorative Arts.

She married Francis Ellerbeck in Vancouver on October 26 1940. The marriage certificate noted that she was a "photographic artist."

She died in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2006 at the age of 86.
