Ralph Berrill

Ralph Berrill was born in Birmingham, England. He trained as an architect in a number of offices, and also studied at the Birmingham School of Art from 1896 to 1900. He immigrated to Canada in 1908, living in Montreal for four years, then moved to Victoria in 1912.

He exhibited artwork and architectural drawings with the Island Arts and Crafts Society from 1913 to 1930.

His wife exhibited collections of hand painted china with the IACS in 1925 and 1926.

He was registered as the 100th member of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia, working with Percival Fox in Victoria.

He started work for the Dominion Housing Act Administration in Ottawa in 1937, where he lived and worked until his death in 1955.

B.C. Vital Statistics on-line provides no information about him, as he was born, married, and died outside of the province.
