BRITISH COLUMBIA ARTISTS |
New since RELEASE 1.25c:
21 new files, comprised of 9 new artist biographies; 10 images added;
an additional 10 references listed, one organization file added and
four more referenced, one list of members added, and more than 60 other files updated.
There are now more than 1,250 artist biographical files, from an overall list of over 1,800 artists. More than 8,500 artworks are listed in exhibition catalogues and vertically in artist biographies. A printout of the entire project (1,696 htm files and 99 jpg images) takes over 2,600 pages.
The Vancouver art school list of students and graduates has been expanded, with additional students listed from numerous Annuals and Prospectii. The student list was also merged with the list of graduates from 1929 - 1951. The combined list now includes 500 students. Although the list is incomplete, it is still the most extensive list available for early students at the art school.
ARTISTS:
Note regarding additional artist biographies:
New biographies tend to have very little
information other than the artist's name and a listing for one or two artworks.
Also, at this stage in the AAEV project, a high percentage of important B.C. artists
already have biographies, and new biographies tend to be for obscure artists with a
limited exhibition record.
